St Joseph’s Home is a newly redeveloped six-storey building that can accommodate up to 412 people at full capacity. The home offers a range of services like nursing care, psycho-social, therapy, dementia and hospice care as well as community programmes for our live-in residents.

 

AVAILABLE POSITIONS:

(1) Physiotherapist

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

– Conduct physiotherapy assessments, plan and implement suitable interventions and evaluations for residents

– Prepare for and participate in care planning discussions

– Supervise Therapy Assistants

– Carry out administrative and operational responsibilities in selected departmental projects

Qualifications:

– Full registration with Allied Health Professional Council

– Minimum 3 years of clinical experience

– Able to speak and understand English as well as at least one of the following: Mandarin, Malay, Tamil, Hindi, Teochew, Hokkien, Cantonese, Hakka or Hainanese

 

(2) Therapy Assistant

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

– Implement physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the managing Therapist

– Help to instruct and guide residents in the correct use of therapy equipment & mobility aids (including performing manual transfers in a safe manner)

– Document residents’ physiotherapy attendances

– Participate in assigned department projects

Qualifications:

– Secondary School education

– Compassionate nature with the desire to serve elderly and children

– A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills

 

(3) Nurse Manager

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

– Responsible for planning, directing and supervising clinical care team

– Run ongoing training programmes for healthcare staff and nurses

– Administer nurses’ rostering schedules and policy reviews

– Support and motivate nurses within your team

Qualifications:

– Registered with Singapore Nursing Board and holding a valid Practising Certificate

– Minimum Degree in Nursing

– Minimum 6 to 8 years of relevant nursing and supervisory experience

– Advanced/Diploma in Gerontology will be an added advantage

– A team player with good interpersonal skills and possess effective leadership & managerial qualities

– Good written and oral communication skills

– Ability to perform shift duty would be an advantage

 

(4) Staff Nurse 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

– Responsible for daily nursing care and activities of elderly residents

– Work in teams and supervise junior nurses in nursing duties

– Provide hands-on training to junior nurses

– Facilitate debrief and handover during shift changes

Qualifications:

– Registered with Singapore Nursing Board and holding a valid Practising Certificate

– Minimum Diploma in Nursing

– Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience

 

(5) Enrolled Nurse

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

– Responsible for daily nursing care and activities of elderly residents

– Assist staff nurse in supervisory and clinical work for the care of elderly residents

– Work in teams

Qualifications:

– Registered with Singapore Nursing Board and holding a valid Practising Certificate

– Minimum NITEC in Nursing

– Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience

 

(6) Health Care Assistants

For many of our residents, activities of daily living such as going to the toilet or taking a shower pose a challenge. This is where the health care assistant (HCA) comes in to provide that pivotal support so that residents can continue living their lives. As the HCAs work in close contact with our residents, they act as that important bridge to bring our residents closer to the feeling of being able to lead a normal life.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

– Assist residents with their activities of daily living such as eating, showering and provide other services to meet the physical and emotional needs of residents.

– Assist nursing staff to administer basic procedures related to resident care and despatching duties

– On-the-job training will be provided

Qualifications:

– NITEC / N Level / Completed Secondary Education

 

(7) Hospitality Officer

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

– Provide assistance to the departments in daily routine works at the front counter (drop off point)

– Security matters (registration of public and visitors using the electronic visitor management system)

– Assist in receiving goods on behalf of other departments

– Assist members of the public and visitors by guiding them to the respective locations in the Home

– Ensure that all visitors to the Home comply with the relevant infection control measures (eg. scan SafeEntry, proper use of face masks etc)

– Carry out appropriate checks and monitoring of the Home premises on a regular basis.

– Be alert for any incidents in the Home, and render appropriate assistance.

Qualifications:

– At least 2 years’ experience in similar capacity.

– Able to adapt, work well independently and in a team.

– Ability to stay calm and handle difficult situations

– Ability to speak and read basic English and converse in dialect (when communicating with visitors)

– Able to perform shift duty, including weekends and public holidays.

– Have basic knowledge in computer work

 

(8) Laundry Assistant

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

– To provide Laundry services to the residents of the Home

– Involves the collection and washing of clothes, bed linens, pillow cases etc

– Perform ironing duties and folding of clothes and linens

– Ensure the general cleanliness of the laundry area

Qualifications:

– Minimum Primary 6 education

– A team player with good interpersonal skills

– Good communications skills, with the ability to speak and write simple English (Primary 6 equivalent)

– Able to perform rotating shift duty

 

(9) Cook

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

– Assist in the production of different types of food, including soft diet and pureed meals based on planned menus

– Ensure that all food is prepared and served in a timely manner, with a consistently high standard

– Comply with and uphold all health and safety standards with regards to all food, beverage and equipment in the kitchen

– Ensure cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen

– Maintain a clean, neat and professional appearance

Qualifications:

– Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar capacity

– Able to adapt, work well independently and in a team

– Understand, speak and read basic English

– Able to perform shift duty for 6-day rostered week (1st shift starts at 5.30am, last shift ends at 8.00pm) including weekend and public holidays

 

For all the above roles, the following are also required: 

–         You need to be a patient person with seniors and are passionate about championing better eldercare

–          You’re equally at home with working in a team as you are on your own

–          You understand the need to care not only for the physical health of our residents but of their emotional health and general well-being
